Madsi 0.1.0
Welcome to Madsi.
In 2025, I started a Minecraft server with friends and went searching for Discord bots to integrate the Discord server I'd made. DiscordSRV was the obvious choice, but...there were pages of configs and .yaml files to sift through, documentation that's impressively thorough (but long), and it lacked the features I wanted. Keen on coding and in search of a project, I decided to build my own Discord bot, Minecraft mod, and web dashboard, jumping in at the deep end, leaning on Claude, and learning through steep curves.
Twelve months on, the first public release of Madsi is ready - offering an enviable list of heavily tested features and a dashboard I think you'll love. It's still in beta, and will stay there for the foreseeable, while I continue to refine and improve the inner workings.
### The bits I love most:
1. **The dashboard.** Never again will you touch a YAML file. What more needs to be said? That, and everything is set up in the browser, with live previews, and lovely animations.
2. **The chat bridge.** With very granular controls, every event type from deaths to chat to events can go to its own channel. There's a filter for slurs and spam, and a helper that writes the filter patterns for you. There's even whispering!!
3. **Linking and whitelisting.** Players link once per discord server with /link (through Microsoft OAuth, or in-game linking if you so wish), and that governs the whitelisting, stats, messages, nicknaming, syncing and more.
4. **Fabric and NeoForge, not just Paper.** The same Madsi runs on modded servers and plugin servers, and behaves identically on all three, so whichever you choose, it works!
5. **Running the server itself.** Install and update mods from Modrinth, edit configs through the UI with a diff, switch worlds, take backups and import modpacks, all from the dashboard. No more drag'n'drop!
6. **Roles and leaderboards.** Driven by in-game stats (playtime, death, blocks mined - you name it), you can link Discord roles and create leaderboards. Plus, with anti-cheat features, you can be alerted if your members are getting a suspicious amount of diamonds.. or rotten potatoes, if that's a notification you need.
The full feature list - deets for geeks™:
- Two-way chat between Minecraft and Discord, with joins, leaves, deaths and advancements routed to whichever channels you pick, event by event
- A chat filter for the bridge, with a pattern helper to write the rules
- Account linking with /link, verified through Microsoft, plus nickname sync

- In-game ranks, tags and teams driven by Discord roles
- Live console in the browser, saved commands, and team commands with approval
- Ban sync across Discord and every server, with Discord timeouts mirrored as temporary bans
